Job Description - IMMEDIATE - Director of Hotel Audio Visual Services

Key Responsibilities:
- Exemplify and promote Extreme Customer Service to clients and co-workers
- Typify AAVC Core Values
- IMPORTANT: coaches others for succession & progression. Specifically grooms assistant for Director’s position. Directors at single man properties will work closely with RVP to identify logical successor
- Trains and mentors direct reports. Performance will be evaluated based, in part, on quality and quantity of promotions that occurred in the Director's assigned area
- Ensures billing and accounting functions are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Primary profit/loss responsibility for assigned area
- Oversees annual employee performance evaluation process for assigned area
- Consistently maintains Magnet database entries. Company reports and customer information is accurate at all times
- Administer 24-hour emergency on call system for assigned area
- AAVC emissary to assigned hotel and its corporate chain
- Creates culture within audio-visual team that genuinely reflects the assigned hotel’s core values
- Works nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, as well as very early mornings and late nights
- Assume duties of co-workers throughout company including supervisor when assigned
- Resolve customer complaints in a timely manner
- Actively pursues high scores in customer surveys
- Provides overall leadership and accountability in assigned area
- Negotiates with vendors in AAVC’s best interest
- Develops cost savings strategy and makes recommendations to senior management
- Attend AAVC training classes.
- Continually maintains professional and polished image under all circumstances
- Prepares r2 documents for tracking, reporting, and inventory purposes
- Primary loss, damage, or theft responsibility. Develops ongoing strategy in an attempt to create zero-loss environment
- Promotes and creates a safe work environment
- Develops rapport with cross functional leadership to ensure company is operating efficiently and as a team
- Promotes and is actively involved in company lead share program to benefit cross functional teams
- Promotes AAVC as a company by building personal rapport with hotel management, staff, and hotel chain whenever possible.
- Produce quality and profitable shows and events
Summary of Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field. AAVC may consider equivalent work experience in lieu of academic credentials
- Minimum of three (3) years serving in a similar audio-visual management position (preferably a Five Star Five Diamond hotel)
- Has verifiable record of selling and producing large audio-visual staging programs
- Has verifiable track record of successfully managing an operation of similar scope
- Broad knowledge of Human Resource law
- Has verifiable record of personally executing large and successful audio-visual programs that exceed $50,000 in total gross billing.
- Has received AAVC certification in the following areas: 1) The American Academy; 2) all of the following Essentials workshops: Basic Audio, Basic Video, Basic Lighting, PowerPoint, Project Management, Basic Sales
- Background in music, recording, audio-visual, computers and/or proficient in related technology highly preferred
- Has demonstrated sufficient time serving as an Assistant Director at a property of similar size and scope to warrant a promotion as Director. Has proven leadership skills, advanced technical proficiency, utmost dependability, and company loyalty. Demonstrates maturity, safety, problem-solving capability, and thorough knowledge of AAVC policies and procedures. Is capable of teaching these things to others

Communicates with highly technical show producers effectively. Is persuasive in selling our services to technical and non-technical customers alike.

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle for up to 6 hours a day or more. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day.
- Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machines, multi-line telephones, filing cabinets, fax machines, copiers and other office equipment as well as audio visual equipment such as computers, projectors, audio mixers, lighting controllers, projection screens, scaffolding and other audio visual equipment as needed.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, climbing, crawling, grasping, writing, repetitive motions, bending, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity. Length of time at these tasks varies from day to day and task to task.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
- Vision occurs continuously with the visual functions being those of far vision and depth perception.
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Temperature is controlled indoors by hotel environmental systems. Outdoor temperatures vary by season, can be colder than 30 degrees in winter, and can exceed 115 degrees in summer.
